It Ends With Us Movie Review

Searching for love is hard especially when you’re unsure if he’s a frog, prince or narcissist.

What’s it about?

Lily Bloom moves to Boston to chase her lifelong dream of opening her own business. A chance meeting with charming neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid soon sparks an intense connection, but as the two fall deeply in love, she begins to see sides of Ryle that remind her of her parents’ relationship. When Lily’s first love, Atlas Corrigan, suddenly reenters her life, her relationship with Ryle gets upended, leaving her with an impossible choice.

What did we think?

Andrew Danyals says: Based on Colleen Hoover’s novel, It Ends With Us is a truly compelling story that keeps you wondering the entire film. The characters have shades of grey and interesting levels and you’re truly caught between liking and hating the love interest until you finally have the decision made for you. In a world where domestic violence is all-too-common, the Blake Lively outing provides great tinder for conversation but the ending leaves a bitter taste with its unrealistic portrayal of a choice that is at odds with narcissistic behaviour.

Great meal but a bitter dessert leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Andrew is a lover of film but hater of schlock. He spends his days writing policy and his nights fighting ignorance. Sometimes he thinks he's two sides of the same coin constantly at war with himself.
