Deadpool & Wolverine Movie Review

It’s Deadpool. Plus Wolverine. It’ll be bloody. It’ll be funny. But will it be bloody funny?

What’s it about?

Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) goes in search of a Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) to save his universe. It doesn’t go well.

What did we think?

You know the drill by now. Deadpool breaks the fourth wall, fights in slow motion while popular music floods the cinema. This time around Disney and the MCU are the primary targets but the main draw is the Reynolds-Jackman team up and the Deadpool-Wolverine dynamic is everything you want it to be.

The story isn’t quite as strong as the previous two-and-a-half outings (admittedly that’s tough competition) but the cameos and pure giddiness of the two stars reveling in each other’s company will more than make up for it for most viewers. The depth of comic and fox/sony references will bring a tear to the eye of even the hardest of Comic Book Guy hearts.

Quite simply, when warm-fuzzy nostalgia crashes with big name heroes and Reynold’s humour? It’s pure fun.

The plot is a bit over-convoluted but it doesn’t detract from a high-octane and hilarious team up comedy that we already want to watch again.
