Blink Twice Movie Review

It’s slick, engaging and intense. But what’s the secret behind it?

What’s it about?

When tech billionaire Slater King meets cocktail waitress Frida at his fundraising gala, he invites her to join him and his friends for a dream vacation on his private island. Wild nights soon blend into sun-soaked days, but when strange things start to happen, Frida must uncover the truth if she hopes to make it out alive.

Anthony Sherratt says: BLINK TWICE is one of those rare movies that is impeccable but difficult to recommend. Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut is magnificent in so many ways; great acting, a storyline that engages, and fantastic production values, all wrapped up in a mystery. It’s bold and certainly swings for the fences. It’s just a shame the final content is so disturbing. There’s a fine line between making a point and making an audience too uncomfortable and for all the wall-to-wall quality, the morality exploration overstepped the line.

It’s bizarre when you can appreciate a quality movie but recommend most people give it a miss. Despite that I can’t wait for Kravitz’s next outing as a director.

icky
An intense, modern thriller exploring morality in an all-too-real way. But it may leave you feeling very uncomfortable.
